Dragon Ball Z Bardock – The Father of Goku tells the story of Bardock, a powerful warrior from the Saiyan race and the father of Goku, the protagonist of the Dragon Ball Z series.
Bardock and his team are sent on a mission to conquer the planet Kanassa, but he becomes suspicious of Frieza’s motives for sending them there. After being attacked by the inhabitants of the planet, Bardock gains the ability to see the future and learns of Frieza’s plans to destroy the Saiyan race.
Despite his efforts to warn his fellow Saiyans, Bardock is unable to convince them of Frieza’s treachery. He is then betrayed by his own comrades and left for dead as Frieza destroys Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race along with it.
In the final moments of his life, Bardock has a vision of his son Goku’s future and sends him away from the planet in a last-ditch effort to save him from the same fate as his people.
The movie explores the tragic backstory of Goku’s father and sheds light on the events that led to the downfall of the Saiyan race.
