The movie starts off with Ryotsu (with Honda as his patsy) hatching another crackpot scam with a fake UFO sighting (via fake crop circles and a wire-hanging UFO). But the plan fails per usual, with the Kameari Park Police Box which results in Ohara punishes Ryotsu by subtracting him from the station’s group vacation to Hawaii the following day.

But Ryotsu persistently follows the group to Hawaii anyway to visit his old childhood friend named Tappei Tanaka who moved there after losing his parents from a storm. Managing to bypass customs, Ryo (disguised as a tourist named “Fujiyama”) plans to con the Kameari Group for in-country cash. The plan fails with Nakagawa and Reiko spotting the easy flaws leading to the Hawaiian police chasing against him until he hitches a ride aboard a Cessna plane piloted by a girl named Mina. Upon arriving, Ryotsu learns from one of Tappei’s relatives that the girl who assisted him earlier was Tappei’s daughter and that Tappei died some time ago while at NASA.
